Your hair plays a huge role in how you look and feel. Obviously you’ll want to make sure it’s healthy and well kept. Much like any other part of the body good hair must be well nourished and well managed. With that in mind here are 5 tips to help you keep your hair at its best:

1) Don't Be Afraid Of Oil
A little oil massage every so often is a well-known traditional remedy for poor hair. Don't ignore the older folks who recommend it because it works. Important nutrients from oils like coconut and olive oil can refresh your hair. It also helps give it more volume and shine. Leave the oil overnight and then wash it out the next day for a greater effect. Oil also helps your hair retain valuable moisture as well.

2) Eat More Bananas
Bananas contain large amounts of potassium. Not only can this be good for your blood pressure but it’s also a vital component for good hair. Eating more bananas can help your roots become stronger. Stronger roots mean less likelihood of weak hair that falls out easily. It also helps individual strands of hair in the strength department as well.

3) Get Good Proteins
Your hair is made from a protein called keratin. Not enough of this and your hairs will split and break with ease. To ensure that doesn't happen get proteins from sources like eggs and poultry. Well known plant base sources of protein can also work if you want to avoid the meat so don't fret.

4) Lay off The Products
Sometimes natural really is better. Many beauty products contain numerous chemical additives. In moderation they can serve their purpose and help out your hair. Too much though and you'll be creating more problems for yourself as it erodes hair health.

5) Watch How You Sleep
If you use a pillow try to have a satin covering on it. This is extra helpful if you toss and turn a lot. It may sound ridiculous but friction while you sleep can split your hairs. It also wears away individual strands and puts strain on the roots. This simple step can help you avoid your next bad hair day!
